›What is ShortlistMe?
A practice platform where you rehearse real job interviews with an AI interviewer — an expressive, natural voice that speaks, listens and reacts like a professional interviewer. Around the interview room you also get the CV Studio (analyse, fix, tailor and build your CV) and the Confidence Booster (a personal plan for interview nerves). It's built for students, graduates and professionals preparing for real hiring processes.
›How does a mock interview work?
You choose your role and experience level (ten role families are covered, from engineering and IT to business, teaching and healthcare, plus seven company-style packs). After a short device check, the interviewer greets you and runs a structured session: introductions, your background, four to five technical or role questions, three to four behavioural questions, then your questions for the interviewer. You speak naturally — hands-free — and the session runs about twenty active minutes. At the end you receive a detailed, honest feedback report with scores, strengths and an improvement plan.
›Do I need to book my interview session?
Usually not. Sessions run in hourly sittings — like a real exam centre — and each hour has a set number of seats, which is how every interview keeps full voice and reasoning quality even when the platform is busy. When the current hour has a free seat (most hours do), pressing Start works instantly with nothing to plan. If an hour is full, you reserve any free slot up to 14 days ahead, shown in your local time; the seat stays yours unless you cancel it, and your plan is only charged when the interview actually starts. Organizations — recruitment agencies, bootcamps, colleges and universities — can also reserve whole blocks of seats in advance from their console, so a cohort morning runs back-to-back without competing with the public calendar.
›What does it cost?
The Free plan includes two lifetime CV analyses so you can see where your CV stands. Paid plans: Starter $19/month (2 live interviews + 3 CV credits), Pro $34/month (4 + 6) and Premium $59/month (8 + 9). Yearly billing gives you two months free, and every plan is also available as a one-time non-renewing pass. If you run out mid-month you can top up — an extra interview is $6.99 and an extra CV credit $2.99. Prices are in USD and payments are processed securely by Stripe.
›What exactly is a CV credit?
One CV credit covers one full CV action: tailoring your CV to a specific job description, building a new CV from scratch, or an analyse-and-fix run. Uploading or re-uploading a CV file never costs a credit. Paid plans can download the finished CV as DOCX or PDF, formatted for your region's conventions.
›Which languages can the interviewer speak?
Interviews start in English by default, but you can ask the interviewer to switch — Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, French and more. You can switch mid-interview just by asking, and the choice sticks for the rest of the session.
›What if I get stuck or nervous during an interview?
The interviewer is deliberately patient — thinking time is never penalised. You can ask for a hint, open the written guidance for the current question, skip a question, or say "Relax my brain" to unlock a short relaxation break (up to three minutes, with the clock paused). If your browser crashes or you lose connection, you can resume the same interview within 24 hours.
›Does using guidance affect my score?
It never hurts you — and it can't be used to cheat. When you open the written guide for a question, your next answer is coached honestly but excluded from scoring: no marks are deducted for using guidance, and none are awarded for reading the guide back. Your report scores reflect only what you answered live, in your own words, and the report says so transparently.
›Is the interviewer a real person?
No. The interviewer is fully AI: a synthetic, expressive AI voice driven by our interview engine. It follows a professional interview structure, adapts to your answers and gives honest feedback — but it is software, not a human, and its feedback is practice coaching, not a hiring decision.
›What do I need to run an interview?
A modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari), a working microphone and a stable internet connection. A camera is optional — it helps you practise your on-camera presence but is never required. The pre-interview check walks you through all of it.
›What is the Job Studio?
The step between your CV and the interview room. It reads your CV, searches live job boards where you want to work — Google for Jobs (which carries Seek, LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor listings), Adzuna, Careerjet and remote boards — and scores every role honestly: a calibrated chance of a shortlist with evidence quoted from your CV. You see as many roles as your plan lets you apply for — 5 on Starter, 10 on Pro, 15 on Premium — strongest chance first, each with an Apply button. Extra applications are $3.99 each.
›Does ShortlistMe apply to jobs for me?
No — and that's deliberate. When you press Apply we show you exactly what the posting expects that your CV doesn't say and ask, term by term, whether you genuinely have it. Only what you confirm goes in. We then tailor your CV to that job, re-check your chances with the new CV, and write the cover letter and email. You send the application yourself, from your own accounts; we never submit anything on your behalf or contact an employer. Once you tell us you've applied, your interviewer prepares you for that exact job.
›How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
From your dashboard, open Billing & Usage → Payments & invoices. That opens your secure Stripe portal where you can change cards, view invoices, switch plans or cancel auto-renewal — you keep access until the end of the paid period. One-time passes simply expire and never renew. For anything billing-related you can also write to info@shortlistme.ai.
