Legal
Terms and conditions.
Last updated: 10 September 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Bluecorp Technologies, the operator of ShortlistMe (shortlistme.ai). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.
1. Who these terms cover
These terms apply to individuals using ShortlistMe for their own job search and interview preparation. If you use the platform through a recruiter, bootcamp, university or employer programme, that organization has accepted the Organization Agreement, which governs seats, credits and what the organization can see; these terms still govern your own conduct on the platform.
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to hold an account.
2. Your account
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Keep your credentials to yourself, tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission, and give us accurate details — your interviewer, your CV work and your job matches are all calibrated to what you tell us. One person per account; accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
3. What ShortlistMe is — and is not
ShortlistMe is software for interview practice and application preparation: an AI interviewer that runs realistic mock interviews and scores them, a CV Studio that analyses and rewrites your CV, and a Job Studio that finds live roles matched to your CV, scores your chances honestly and prepares each application for you to send.
We are not a recruitment agency, employment agency, job board or placement service. We do not represent you to employers, hold no vacancies, take no fee from any employer, and cannot promise an interview, an offer or a job. Our disclaimer explains this in full and forms part of these terms.
4. Plans, credits and payment
The Free plan includes limited CV analyses and one short taster interview. Paid plans (Starter, Pro and Premium) are sold monthly, yearly or as a one-time pass and include a set number of live mock interviews, CV credits and Job Studio applications per billing period, as shown on the pricing page at the time you buy. Yearly plans carry twelve times the monthly allowance. Extra interview sessions, CV credits and job applications can be bought as top-ups on any active plan.
Allowances reset at the start of each billing period and unused allowances do not roll over. Top-ups do not expire while your plan is active. Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise and may change; a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's pages; we never see or store your card number. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from Billing & Usage in your dashboard — you keep access until the end of the paid period. One-time passes expire and never renew.
If a paid session or CV job fails because of a fault on our side, we restore the allowance or refund it. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded.
5. The CV Studio
A CV credit covers one CV analysis-and-fix, one tailoring to a job description or one build from your background, and is consumed when the work is delivered. The Studio improves wording, structure and presentation of what you actually did and only adds a skill or keyword after you confirm you genuinely have it. You are responsible for the accuracy of every CV you download and send.
6. The Job Studio
A job application allowance is consumed when we prepare an application: a CV tailored to that posting, a re-check of your chances with the new CV, a cover letter and an email draft. Reopening a prepared application costs nothing. The number of suggested roles you see equals the applications you have left on your plan, strongest chance first.
Postings come from third-party job boards and aggregators through their licensed APIs and remain their publishers' property. We do not verify every posting and cannot guarantee a role is still open or accurately described. Your “chance of a shortlist” is an honest AI estimate, not a prediction made by an employer.
We never submit an application, contact an employer or send your CV anywhere on your behalf. You send every application yourself, from your own accounts, under the terms of the site you apply through, and you are responsible for its contents. When you tell us you have applied, we use that job to prepare your interviews.
7. Mock interviews and reports
Interviews are conducted by an AI interviewer with a synthetic voice. When you speak, your audio is transcribed and immediately discarded; we keep the text transcript, which is yours to read and download. We do not store audio or video of you, create voice or face prints, or perform facial or emotion analysis.
Scores, readiness estimates and feedback are opinions generated by AI to help you train. They are not a hiring, admission or ranking decision about you and must not be presented to anyone as one. Answers given after opening a question's written guide are coached and excluded from scoring.
8. Your content
You own your CV, your answers and everything you upload. You grant us a licence to store and process that content, including with the AI providers named in our privacy policy, solely to provide the service to you. The documents we generate for you — CV versions, cover letters, emails and reports — are yours to use. You promise that your content is yours to upload and does not misrepresent your experience, qualifications or identity.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share, sell or transfer your account, or use someone else's;
- use the platform to misrepresent yourself to an employer, or to prepare applications for a person who has not consented;
- scrape, crawl, copy or bulk-export the platform, its question banks, its interviewer or the job listings it shows;
- reverse-engineer, probe or interfere with the service, its rate limits or its security;
- upload unlawful, defamatory, infringing, malicious or abusive content, or attempt to make the interviewer produce it;
- resell the service or use it to build a competing product.
10. AI-generated content
The interviewer, the CV Studio, the Job Studio scores and every report are produced by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete or dated, and they are practice and preparation tools — not legal, financial, immigration or career advice. Check anything you rely on, especially documents you send to an employer.
11. Our intellectual property
The platform, its design, its interviewer, its question banks, scoring methods, report formats and brand belong to Bluecorp Technologies or its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers them to you. Company-style interview packs are simulations; the names of those companies are used only to describe the interview style and imply no affiliation.
12. Availability and changes
The service depends on third-party AI, voice, hosting, payment and job-board providers. We work to keep everything running, but we cannot promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change, add or retire features. If a change materially reduces what your paid plan includes during a period you have paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of that period.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, ShortlistMe is provided as it is, we exclude all warranties not stated here, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, lost income or the outcome of any application or interview. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard, which permanently removes your documents, transcripts and reports. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after notice where practical; a paid period is refunded pro rata unless the breach was serious. Clauses that by their nature should survive — content ownership, liability, and this clause — survive termination.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes are announced in the dashboard or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them. The date at the top shows the current version.
16. General
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms, the privacy policy and the disclaimer are the whole agreement between us for individual use. Questions and notices go to info@shortlistme.ai.
